IMEG is hiring a Civil Engineering Intern in Ontario CA to work closely with experienced engineers and consultants on engineering analysis design field inspections writing reports preparing permit applications site drainage and grading designs and learning the civil engineering trade. Over 10-12 weeks this internship offers hands-on experience supporting active project work in a collaborative environment.

In this role you will support project work while helping the team stay aligned with project budgets cross-functional coordination needs project goals and client expectations. The team supports survey transportation and municipal work across Southern California and the Southwest delivering resilient environmentally responsible infrastructure.

What Youll Do

• Assist with design portions of civil projects related to discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards

• Assist with researching resources for commercially available equipment

• Assist with client relations project design notebook documentation and permanent record files

• Assist with coordinating design and schedule with architectural structural electrical mechanical technology clerical and equipment supplier teams

• Assist with documenting design decisions meetings and client instructions while monitoring project design progress

• Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check

• Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information

• Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement

What Youll Bring

Required Education

• Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent required

Required Experience

• None listed.

Required Skills/Abilities

• May be required to assist with field duties such as surveying and materials testing

• Strong interest in design consulting

• Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs CAD software and BIM

• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

Preferred

• Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

• Site civil and ADA design for major clients including Toyota and Kaiser Permanente medical facilities

• Strong K-12 and higher-education portfolio including modular classroom builds and campus sewer improvements

• Recent work includes Kaiser Medical Center Ontario Healthcare McKinley School Relocatable Classrooms Education and Toyota NAPCC Fencing Industrial.

Salary Ranges (by jurisdiction in compliance with local laws):

State of California Hourly Range: $22.00 $24.00

State of Nevada Hourly Range: $22.00 $24.00

Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience knowledge skills and abilities of the applicant.
