IMEG is hiring a Civil Engineering Intern in Charlotte NC. Over 10-12 weeks youll assist in engineering analysis design field inspections report writing permit application preparation and site drainage and grading design while learning the Civil Engineering trade.
Youll support project work within budget collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations and help document design progress from coordination through final check. This role also provides hands-on exposure to site observations and multidisciplinary teamwork while delivering resilient environmentally responsible infrastructure.

Assist with project design work for discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards.
Assist with researching commercially available equipment and resources.
Assist with client relations maintain the project design notebook and provide documentation for permanent record files.
Assist with coordinating design and schedules with architectural structural electrical mechanical technology clerical and equipment supplier teams.
Assist with documenting design decisions meetings and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check.
Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information.
Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement.
Education
Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent required
Required Skills/Abilities
May be to assist with field duties such as surveying and materials testing
Strong interest in design consulting
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs CAD software and BIM
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Preferred
Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
