Civil Engineering Intern

Civil Engineering Intern at Cushing Terrell. This is an in-person internship supporting our Civil Engineering team on real client projects.

What does this role involve day to day You will support civil engineers in the design and plan production of roadway grading and drainage water sewer pavement land development and erosion control systems building a base foundation of engineering principles and code requirements that build on your college coursework.

What will I create You will help produce AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting and design documents assist with quantities takeoffs and estimating and research jurisdictional criteria for planning and engineering.

What does success look like in this internship You will gain hands-on experience performing civil engineering calculations and designing site and infrastructure elements participate in site visits before and during construction and leave with a clear picture of what it means to work in the AEC industry.

The expected wage range for this position is $21.00 to $26.00 per hour.

• Completion of 3 years of a civil engineering or related undergraduate program
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite Microsoft Office Suite Outlook and Bluebeam
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt
• Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with team members across disciplines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Exposure to roadway grading and drainage water sewer or land development design
• Interest in erosion control systems or site infrastructure
• Familiarity with quantities takeoffs or cost estimating
• Interest in jurisdictional or municipal code research

*Actual pay will be determined based on the candidates years of experience licensure status location level of proficiency and other job-related factors (as permitted by law). This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.
