With a staff of 950 and an annual budget of $140 million Project Renewal is one of the larger social service nonprofits in New York : Fleet Coordinator/Driver Program: CBKSalary Range: $28.00/hour Overall Responsibilities:The Fleet Coordinator/Driver is responsible for ensuring the organizations fleet of vans operates safely efficiently and reliably in support of daily catering meal delivery. This hands-on position combines fleet coordination vehicle maintenance oversight driving responsibilities and real-time problem-solving. The ideal candidate is organized mechanically inclined dependable and able to respond quickly to transportation Duties and Responsibilities:The essential duties of the Fleet Coordinator include but are not limited to the following activities:Fleet OperationsCoordinate the daily deployment of fleet vehicles to meet catering meal delivery and event inspections of vehicles to ensure they are clean safe and vehicle mileage fuel usage maintenance schedules and fleet records registrations insurance documentation and service preventive maintenance and repairs to minimize vehicle with repair vendors and monitor repair quality and of dispatching routes to drivers according to daily event ResponsibilitiesSafely transport meals catering equipment supplies to various delivery logs mileage reports and vehicle inspection as a backup driver whenever staffing shortages or emergencies Problem SolvingRespond to vehicle breakdowns and roadside transportation issues and coordinate immediate solutions to keep operations running vehicles or routes when mechanical issues or scheduling conflicts effectively with drivers kitchen staff and management regarding transportation SupportAssist with training new drivers on vehicle safety inspections and organizational safe driving practices and accountability among transportation drivers are scheduled to cover all routes and arrange coverage for call-outs and with disciplinary and corrective actions for traffic violations and the Assistant Director of Transportation in improving fleet efficiency and reducing operating :High school diploma or GED drivers license with a clean driving of 2-3 years of commercial driving fleet coordination logistics or transportation with cargo vans box trucks or commercial vehicles mechanical knowledge and ability to identify vehicle organizational and communication to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced with Microsoft Office and fleet management software is to lift up to 75 pounds and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather be able to pass a drug screening prior to employment SkillsExcellent problem-solving and decision-making customer service and teamwork to remain calm under pressure and respond quickly to transportation working in nonprofit organizations food service catering or meal delivery of New York City streets and delivery logistics is highly RequirementsFrequent walking standing bending lifting and to load and unload catering equipment and food to safely operate cargo vans and light commercial ExpectationsMaintain vehicle readiness and minimize fleet on-time deliveries and transportation a culture of safety accountability and customer the organizations mission by ensuring reliable transportation for meals catering events and community to work flexible schedules position is ideal for someone who enjoys being both in the field and behind the sceneskeeping vehicles on the road solving problems before they become emergencies and ensuring that meal deliveries and catering operations continue without interruption.
