Job Summary
Job Description
This Continuous Improvement Manager must be able to develop efficiency and process enhancement strategies. These strategies include optimizing cost throughput improvement and the ability to investigate issues shortfalls and opportunities in operational business processes.
CI
Continuous Improvement Manager must be able to measure the success of their initiatives through key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost savings productivity improvements reduction in waste or defects.
Responsible for reviewing current production practices and identifying areas that need improvement. Review findings with all levels of leadership and lead efforts to implement changes and train staff to increase efficiency and reduce expenses.
The CI manager will be responsible to develop a center of expertise for EV vehicles.
Ability to identify and manage implementation of complex manufacturing engineering projects (project management). Responsibilities will range from being a business strategist to a process analyst all the way to project manager/ execution.
Proficiency and knowledge of lean manufacturing engineering material handling systems and supplier business processes
Ability to coach train develop and evaluate employees.
Ability to process large amounts of data and turn the information into insights and action plans.
Proficient in utilization of strategies and methodologies such as Red X Opex Lean Principles Agile Manufacturing Six Sigma and Kaizen.
GMS
Drive GM common manufacturing systems and best practices for all applicable shops
Coach teach and audit elements of GM Quality Manual and GMS BIQ Principle and Elements.
Complete full readiness assessment and gap closure for all GMS Activities including calibrations and recertification audits.
Develop & coordinate with all shops common Quality & General Manufacturing best practices for high impact activities such as: Re-rates adding/reducing shifts significant launches MY changeover major equipment deployment GCA recovery methods DRR recovery methods
Leverage best practices and lessons learned (Knowledge management) relative to EVs. Collaborate with those outside the plant on best practices.
Strong communication and collaboration with the internal and external resources.
Meets cost schedule and quality requirements.
Knowledge and discipline to track KPIs and execute standardized processes that drive SPQRCE and GMS deliverables.
General
Proficiency and knowledge of all GM manufacturing quality systems at detailed level including role of the UAW.
Proficient with productivity process automation and job balancing.
Managerial Courage to provide direct honest constructive feedback to Plant Staffs / Executive Leadership.
Experience with quality tools such as PFMEA SPC and Control Plan. Knowledge of and participation in Launch Activities.

What Gives You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Requirements):
Engineering Bachelor or equivalent.
Qualifications:
Multi discipline (quality manufacturing etc.) experience
7-10 years of Quality Engineering and Manufacturing systems experience
Vehicle Assembly Plant Quality experience required.
Extensive knowledge of GMS Red X / OPEX
