Job Title: CT & X-Ray Technologist

Location: Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility (CCHCF) Radiology Department Chinle AZ 86503

Duration: 13 weeks contract with possibility of extension

Shift Schedule:

• Day Shift: 8:00 AM 8:00 PM (12-hour shift includes weekends and holidays)

• Night Shift: 8:00 PM 8:00 AM (12-hour shift includes weekends and holidays)

• Rotation: 7 days on / 7 days off

How Many Shifts Needed Per Month: Approximately 13 15 shifts per month per technologist (based on 7-on/7-off 12-hour shift structure; 520 hours per 3-month CLIN period per position)

Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6 to 8 weeks

License: Any valid state license acceptable; motor vehicle operators license required if driving is needed at the facility

Certifications:

• ARRT certified and registered in both CT and XR (Radiography)

• BLS / CPR

Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (associates or bachelors degree typical for ARRT eligibility)

Experience Needed: Minimum 12 months of CT/Radiology Technology experience; any gap in work experience prior to start at CCHCF must not exceed 6 months

Special Skills Needed:

• Proficiency with dual modality imaging: CT scanning (GE Revolution Evo CT) and general radiography/fluoroscopy (Shimadzu X-ray GE Portable X-ray GE Precision Fluoroscopy C-arm)

• IV cannulation for contrast injection and ability to monitor and recognize injection complications

• Ability to perform 500 standard radiographic diagnostic and fluoroscopic procedures (IVP barium swallow cystograms C-arm assist during surgery etc.)

• Electronic Medical Record (EHR) documentation proficiency

• Basic computer literacy for IHS IT systems

• Cultural sensitivity and awareness ability to work respectfully with Navajo and American Indian/Alaska Native patients; elderly patients may speak only Navajo

• Effective English communication (read write speak understand)

Responsibilities:

• Independently perform computerized axial tomographic (CT) scanning fluoroscopy and general diagnostic X-ray imaging of head and body

• Check in schedule receive and prepare patients; explain procedures; assist with patient transfers

• Perform IV cannulation for contrast injections; monitor for complications

• Assist physicians and radiologists in administering opaque media for prescribed CT and radiographic exams

• Confer with radiologist for complex and non-standard exams

• Assist with emergency first aid; initiate CPR when needed

• Participate in all ARRT-required QC activities

• Maintain logs repair/maintenance records and supply-related records per departmental practice

• Complete all required EHR/medical record documentation within four (4) days of patient encounter

• Adhere to HIPAA Privacy Act and IHS IT security policies

• Subject to peer review per Joint Commission standards; comply with CCHCF Safety Measure Policy

• Attend mandatory facility orientation and IHS-required training upon start
