KIDS FIRST is a compassionate child-centered program dedicated to serving children with special healthcare needs from six weeks to five years old. Within our pediatric day healthcare clinics children for with developmental delays and other special medical needs receive intensive nurturing and individualized early developmental servicessetting the foundation for lifelong growth and success.

About the Role: Child Development Technician:
In this hands-on and rewarding role the Child Development Technician partners closely with the Early Childhood Development Specialist to provide daily care support and developmental interventions for children from birth to age five with special medical and developmental needs.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma/GED plus 6 months of experience working in the care of children

  • Additional education including CCOT CDA AA or a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development or a related field may be substituted for the experience requirement.

  • Candidate must pass state abuse registry checks drug screen submit to a TB skin test and required immunizations or provide proof of immunizations.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Provides quality direct patient care for a group of young children including serving mealtimes assisting with feeding diapering and dressing.
  • Providing developmentally appropriate behavioral guidance within daily scheduled activities
  • Follow the direction of the ECDS to provide individualized developmental services in their assigned treatment rooms in a manner that is child-centered family-focused and demonstrates evidence-based or best practice.
  • Establishes exciting learning environments for young children and applies the curriculum to address the objectives contained in each childs treatment plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
