Child Care Assistants

Lifesteps is immediately hiring Full-Time or Part-time Child Care Assistants for the Butler Early Education center.

Lifesteps is a local non-profit human service organization which provides programs and services to help children of all abilities with their early care and early education needs.

Child Care Assistants (also known as Assistant Group Supervisors or Teacher Aides) work Monday through Friday daylight hours in the daycare and preschool center. No Evenings No Weekends!

Job duties may include:

• the care and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old
• assisting with lesson planning and creating fun activities
• supervising indoor and outdoor play time
• teach children subjects like colors and letters and basic concepts such as sharing
• nurture the infants and play with the toddlers
• inform parents about the childs day

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience working with children - can be paid or unpaid work such as Summer Camps Church Nursery Babysitting Bible School Volunteering with children AGS Teacher Assistant etc.
• Ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds without assistance
• Ability to provide acceptable state clearances
• Able to multi-task and work in a team environment.

Preferred:

• Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development Special Education Elementary Education or Human Services field
• Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development Special Education Elementary Education Psychology Art/Dance Therapy Music Therapy Family Studies etc. or a related Human Services field
