As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Blackbird Health youll play an essential role in delivering comprehensive psychiatric evaluations treatment planning and medication management for children adolescents and young adults. Youll build meaningful connections with patients to support their engagement in treatment spending the necessary time with patients and families to understand their needs educate them about care options and provide ongoing support.
Were seeking dedicated clinicians to join ourFrederick MD team to provide hybrid services to children adolescents and young adults ages 226 as well as the caregivers who support them. Multiple employment tracks are available: youll select your preferred arrangement in the application.
- 1099 Contractor Track
- Pay: $120$140 per session
- Commitment: Minimum 12 hours per week.
- Hours: Shift availability focused during our peak after-school hours (defined as after 3:00 PM ET weekdays and/or weekends).
- Flexibility: Set your own pace and caseload size.
- W2 Part-Time Track
- Salary Range: $72500 base salary $100 per hour for any additional clinical hours worked beyond the agreed schedule.
- Commitment: 20 hours per week (inclusive of 17 direct care hours).
- Hours: Shift availability must target peak after-school hours (defined as after 3:00 PM ET weekdays and/or weekends).
- Benefits: Medical dental vision 401(k) with company match and generous PTO 11 holidays.
- W2 Full-Time Track
- Salary Range: $135000$145000 USD base salary
- Commitment: 40 hours per week. Shift availability includes a minimum of 15 peak hours scheduled after 3:00 PM ET weekdays and/or weekends.

- Clinically Excellent: You have experience working with children and adolescents as a psychiatric nurse practitioner and have practiced independently at the top of your scope for at least one year under licensure. You bring clinical expertise with a warm patient-centered approach.

- Provide Comprehensive Psychiatric Care: Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations assessments and diagnoses for children adolescents and young adults. Develop personalized treatment plans and provide medication management that addresses the unique needs of each patient.
- Build Meaningful Therapeutic Relationships: Spend the necessary time with patients and families to truly understand their experiences educate them about treatment options and provide ongoing support. Build connection and trust that keeps patients engaged in their care journey.
- Drive Patient Progress & Safety: Monitor patient progress against care goals adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure positive outcomes. Take the necessary steps to keep patients safe intervening proactively when concerns arise.
- Collaborate for Integrated Care: Work closely with therapists and other healthcare professionals to create integrated treatment plans that address the whole child. Participate in regular team and supervisory clinical meetings to ensure coordinated high-quality care.
- Educate & Empower Families: Provide consultation and education to patients and their families helping them understand diagnoses treatment options and how to support their childs mental health journey.
- Ensure Clinical Excellence & Compliance: Oversee diagnostic testing including digital and lab results. Maintain thorough HIPAA-compliant records of patient meetings and progress.
- Masters Degree from an accredited nursing program PMHNP-BC certification and at least one year of independent psychiatric experience working under licensure.
- Active Maryland PMHNP / CRNP / APN license active DEA license and Maryland State Prescriptive Authority.
- Hybrid Layout: Ability to work a hybrid model with designated onsite clinical days at our Frederick MD location alongside virtual telehealth capability.
- At least 1 year of experience specializing in child and adolescent populations (ages 226).
- Availability to cover peak clinical hours (after 3:00 PM ET weekdays and/or weekends).
Salary Range
$72500 - $175500 USD
