The Chemline Technician IV serves as a senior technical specialist and line leader responsible for advanced wet chemical processing and ultra-high purity cleaning of semiconductor components. This role oversees chemline operations maintains and validates chemical processes and ensures products meet stringent quality contamination and Certificate of Analysis (CoA) requirements. By leading inspections troubleshooting process and equipment issues supporting new product introductions and process qualifications and mentoring junior technicians the Chemline Technician IV drives safety quality throughput and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with environmental health and operational standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced wet chemical cleaning stripping etching and processing of semiconductor components
  • Prepare monitor and maintain chemical tank chemistries in accordance with validated recipes
  • Lead daily operations of assigned chemline(s) ensuring throughput quality and safety targets are met
  • Review and approve travelers batch records test data and Certificates of Analysis (CoA)
  • Conduct incoming in-process and final inspections to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Troubleshoot process deviations contamination risks and equipment issues; implement corrective actions
  • Support first article (FAI) R&D and new process qualifications
  • Train mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians
  • Ensure proper handling storage and disposal of hazardous chemicals in compliance with EHS standards
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (yield cycle time defect reduction)
  • Maintain accurate documentation and support SPC tracking and data logging
  • Occasionally support material handling or customer deliveries as needed

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

    • Strong expertise in:
      • Wet chemical processing and tank chemistry management
      • Contamination control (particles films residues)
    • Ability to:
      • Work independently on complex assignments with minimal supervision
      • Lead workflows and guide team members effectively
      • Analyze process data and resolve technical issues quickly
    • Working knowledge of:
      • SPC process documentation and quality systems
      • Cleanroom and semiconductor manufacturing environments
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high purity standards
    • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
    • Computer proficiency (MS Word Excel data entry systems)
    • Commitment to safety compliance and 6S practices

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • 46 years of experience in wet chemical processing plating etch or semiconductor cleaning
    • Strong experience in chemical handling and process control
    Technical Skills
    • Deep understanding of:
      • Chemical reactions compatibility and bath control
      • Contamination control principles (particles films residues)
    • Experience with:
      • SPC data logging and process tracking
      • Cleanroom and/or semiconductor manufacturing environments
    • Ability to interpret:
      • Work instructions process specs and engineering documentation
    Leadership Competencies
    • Proven ability to:
      • Work independently with minimal supervision
      • Lead workflows and influence team performance
      • Solve complex technical problems quickly and effectively

    Physical & Work Environment

    • Frequent exposure to hazardous chemicals and wet processing stations
    • Required use of:
      • Chemical PPE (respirator acid suits gloves etc.)
    • Standing for extended periods
    • Lifting up to 50 lbs
    • Repetitive motions (handling loading/unloading parts)
