Job Summary
Position Summary: The Chemical Loading Operator performs all aspects of safely transferring bulk liquid chemical products to and from trucks rail and of the Main Responsibilities:Responsible for the safe and proper handling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in compliance with plant requirementsProvide efficient and traceable movement of in-bound and out-bound company productsLoad and unload hazardous liquid chemical trucks rail cars and bargesPerform standard work and adhere to standard operating procedures to ensure unit safety quality and production goals are metMaintain proper housekeeping and clean work environmentPerform minor running maintenanceParticipate as member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) including fire brigade HAZWOPER technician and confined space rescueRequired Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent is requiredExperience in manufacturing or chemical plant operations is preferredAbility to obtain a TWIC card is requiredAdditional Qualifications:Chemical operations background/experience is preferredStrong safety awareness mindsetDemonstrated ability to adhere to policies and proceduresAttention to detailMechanical aptitudeStrong problem-solving skillsDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot and take corrective action within an industrial settingAbility to work in a fast-paced physically demanding environmentStrong work ethic initiative and ability to learn new technical skillsWork effectively in a team environmentWork a 12-hour rotating shift scheduleWork in adverse weather conditions (cold hot humid rain snow etc.)Work at elevated heights greater than 100 feetLift at least 50lbsWork in confined spacesAbility to handle and work with highly hazardous chemicalsAbility to wear and work in full body PPE (personal protective equipment) which includes acid suit (acid jacket & acid pants) full face respirator and hoodBasic computer skillsThe hourly rate for this position is $28.31
