Description:

The First Year Chaplain Resident functions as a team member of the Spiritual Care Department and establishes collaborative relationships with the interdisciplinary care team other professionals and the community. The estimated start date is August 2026.

What you will do

  • Responsible for responding to the spiritual needs of patients families and staff of all faith traditions throughout the organization

  • Provides interfaith spiritual care through visitation crisis intervention prayers sacraments as needed and appropriate bereavement and end-of-life support life-reviews spiritual care consultation around existential questions spiritual and religious rituals worship services and staff support

  • Must understand we exist for the patients and their care is the number one priority

  • Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with admin colleagues patients and family members

  • Responsible for participating in the professional training program such as the action-reflection-new action process written requirements and group participation to complete the educational requirements for chaplaincy certification
