Job Summary

Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 40 Hours/Week 8-Hour Shifts
Shift: Rotating Days 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
- Traveler Pay: $55 $60/hour ($2062 $2250 Weekly) based on experience
- Local Pay: $45 $50/hour ($1687 $1875 Weekly) based on experience
We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist to support a dynamic Operating Room team in a hospital surgical environment. The Surgical Technologist will assist surgeons and nursing staff during a variety of surgical procedures while maintaining sterile technique ensuring patient safety and supporting efficient surgical operations.
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments sterile drapes equipment and supplies
- Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection prevention protocols and AORN standards
- Perform scrub technician duties across multiple surgical specialties and services
- Pass instruments sutures sponges and sterile supplies to surgeons during procedures
- Assist with retractors sponge and instrument counts and specimen handling
- Prepare label and manage medications under the direction of the surgeon and Registered Nurse
- Assist with patient positioning transport and transfer to recovery areas
- Ensure proper availability and functioning of specialty instrumentation and surgical equipment
- Operate and assist with sterilizers suction devices lights and diagnostic equipment as needed
- Support operating room turnover and restocking between procedures
- Collaborate with Registered Nurses and surgical teams to maintain efficient workflow and quality patient care
- Participate in orientation and training of new staff members as assigned
- Maintain patient privacy dignity and safety throughout all surgical procedures
- Graduate of an accredited civilian or military Operating Room Technician/Surgical Technician program required
- Current NBSTSA Certification required and must be maintained
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum recent Surgical Technologist experience in hospital OR settings required
- Ability to read write and communicate effectively in English
- Strong understanding of sterile technique infection prevention and surgical procedures
- Orthopedic surgical experience strongly preferred
- Experience across multiple surgical specialties preferred
- Strong teamwork communication and organizational skills
- No call and no weekends required on the initial contract
- Future contract schedules may include:
- Weekend shifts
- Backup call coverage
- Overnight call rotations
- Two manager/supervisor references required upon submission
