Position Overview

Our growing locally owned and managed not-for-profit healthcare system is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join a collaborative Surgical Services this role you will play a critical part in supporting safe efficient surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile operating room environment and assisting surgeons and perioperative staff throughout all phases of care.

This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced Surgical Technologists and motivated new graduates looking to build a rewarding career in a supportive acute care hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare operating rooms surgical instruments supplies and equipment for procedures
  • Ensure sterile instruments sutures and specialty equipment are available and functioning properly
  • Assist with patient positioning skin preparation and surgical draping
  • Establish and maintain sterile fields throughout surgical procedures
  • Perform initial and ongoing instrument sponge and sharps counts with the circulating nurse
  • Participate in patient identification and surgical site verification processes (time-outs)
  • Anticipate surgeon needs and efficiently pass instruments supplies and equipment during procedures
  • Properly prepare label and handle surgical specimens
  • Assist with patient transfers lifting and positioning using safe body mechanics
  • Clean inspect and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization
  • Support terminal cleaning and turnover of operating rooms between procedures
  • Follow infection prevention protocols standard precautions and appropriate PPE usage at all times
  • Maintain professionalism and positive communication with patients families physicians and coworkers

Qualifications
Required
  • Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
