Job Summary

Job Title: Certified Surgical Technician (OB Tech)

Location: Portland OR
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Day Shift 3x12-Hour Shifts 7:00 AM 7:00 PM

Compensation
  • Local Pay Rate: $40 $45/hour (Based on Experience)
  • Travel Pay Rate: $55 $60/hour (Based on Experience)
Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technicianto support obstetrical and surgical services in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The Surgical Technician will work closely with physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and efficient patient care during labor delivery and surgical procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess strong sterile technique skills excellent communication abilities and experience supporting surgical and obstetrical procedures while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety.

Responsibilities
Surgical & Obstetrical Support
  • Prepare operating and procedure rooms for obstetrical and surgical cases.
  • Set up sterile instruments supplies and equipment required for procedures.
  • Assist physicians and nursing staff during cesarean sections and other surgical procedures.
  • Maintain sterile fields and adhere to aseptic techniques throughout procedures.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide instruments and supplies as needed.
Patient Care & Safety
  • Assist with patient positioning and preparation for procedures.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative process.
  • Participate in surgical counts and report discrepancies according to established policies.
  • Monitor and maintain a clean organized and safe procedural environment.
Equipment & Supply Management
  • Inspect clean and prepare surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of surgical supplies.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or supply shortages promptly.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
  • Adhere to infection prevention safety and regulatory standards.
  • Follow departmental policies and best practices for surgical services.
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
Certifications
  • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
  • Current BLS certification preferred.
Experience
  • Previous experience as an OB Surgical Technician preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Schedule & Additional Information
  • Shift: Day Shift 3x12-hour schedule.
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
  • On-Call Requirement: None.
  • Float Requirement: None.
  • Block Scheduling: Required.
  • Patient Ratio: 1:1.
  • 48-hour schedules are not approved.
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this assignment.
