Certified Scrub Tech

Contract

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Scrub Technician to support a fast-paced surgical department. The OR Tech will assist surgeons and nursing staff during a variety of surgical procedures while maintaining sterile technique and ensuring efficient operating room workflow.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience scrubbing multiple surgical specialties in a hospital setting and be comfortable working variable shifts and on-call rotations.

• Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments
• Assist surgeons during operative procedures by passing instruments and supplies
• Perform turnover cleaning between surgical cases
• Transport patients as needed
• Ensure proper handling and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment
• Maintain patient safety and infection control standards
• Collaborate with surgeons nurses anesthesia staff and surgical team members
• Accurately document procedures and support department workflow

Candidates must be able to independently scrub procedures including:

• General Surgery
• Orthopedic Surgery
• Vascular Surgery
• Ophthalmology
• Urology
• ENT
• Endoscopy
• Robotic Surgery
• Obstetrics
• Gynecology

• Variable shifts based on department needs
• Operating hours may range from early morning through late evening
• Scheduled for approximately 40 hours per week
• Reduced hours may occur during holiday weeks

• 24/7 call coverage required
• On-call assignments average:
  • 1 2 times per week
  • Up to 2 weekends per month
• Required callback response time: 20 minutes

• Active Hawaii license required by assignment start date
• Minimum of 2 years of recent scrub experience in a hospital operating room setting
• Current BLS certification required
• Ability to independently scrub a wide variety of surgical procedures
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
• Experience with EPIC EMR preferred

• Scrubs are provided
• Orientation will begin on day shift and continue based on management discretion
• Holiday coverage may be required
• Candidates requesting time off during the assignment must still complete the minimum required shifts
• Must be able to work efficiently in a high-volume surgical environment
