Job Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join an interdisciplinary healthcare team serving frail and elderly participants. Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist the COTA will provide restorative and rehabilitative occupational therapy services designed to improve independence safety and quality of life.

This role offers the opportunity to build long-term relationships with participants while working within a collaborative care model focused on holistic patient-centered outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer occupational therapy treatment programs as directed by the Occupational Therapist
  • Assist with assessments including vital signs range of motion and strength testing
  • Implement individualized treatment plans designed to improve function and independence
  • Document therapy interventions and participant progress accurately and timely
  • Coordinate participant schedules for therapy treatments and clinical visits
  • Support rehabilitation activities focused on balance endurance cognition and ADL performance
  • Collaborate with Occupational Therapists and interdisciplinary team members to achieve care goals
  • Provide participant and caregiver education as appropriate

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Active California Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) License required
  • Minimum two (2) years of OTA experience in a clinical setting
  • Experience working with frail elderly or geriatric populations strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of rehabilitative therapy techniques and ADL-focused interventions
  • Strong communication documentation and teamwork skills
  • Ability to provide services in both clinical and home-based settings

  • Geriatric care experience
  • Outpatient therapy experience
  • Acute care experience
  • Inpatient rehabilitation experience
  • Skilled nursing facility experience

Note: Candidates with exclusively pediatric experience will not be considered.
