• Minimum of 1 year inpatient midwifery experience post training required
• Experience as Surgical First Assist
• Work independently with Laborist back-up as needed
• Locations to include Tacoma General Hospital Good Samaritan Hospital and Auburn Medical Center

Position Summary

A Certified Nurse Midwife is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who specializes in womens reproductive health and childbirth. CNMs provide care throughout the lifespan with a focus on pregnancy labor and delivery postpartum care and general gynecological prenatal intrapartum and postpartum care to women and their routine gynecological exams including Pap smears and breast family planning services and contraceptive with labor and delivery including natural and medically assisted the health of mother and baby during and after medications and order diagnostic tests as with OB-GYNs pediatricians and other healthcare patients on reproductive health childbirth preparation and newborn accurate and detailed medical for holistic patient-centered care and support maternal mental healthDocument all patient interactions accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR) inclusive of direct patient encounters and asynchronous care. RequirementsRegistered Nurse (RN) license and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in Washington completion of an American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM)-accredited nurse-midwifery programCurrent active certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (or its predecessor the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) Certification Council) or be actively seeking initial certification and obtain the same on the first examination for which he or she is eligibleClinical experience in obstetrics gynecology or womens interpersonal communication and decision-making NPI & Prescriptive authorityCurrent BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart AssociationProfessional liability insurance coverage issued by a recognized company and in an amount equal to or greater than the limits established by the governing of Fetal Heart Monitoring education as per MHS Fetal Monitoring Requirements for Initial Applicants which needs to be completed within 60 days of being granted privileges and remain current at the time of reappointment.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package including competitive salary medical dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $95.49 - $95.49 USD. However pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants including but not limited to: skill set level of experience and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicants years of experience align.
