Job Summary
Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is looking to hire a Deaf/ Hard of Hearing Teacher to join our staff and work in an amazing school! Deaf/ Hard of Hearing Teacher Qualifications:
Must hold (or be eligible for) a Hearing Impaired PK-12 certificate
Experience with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students and ASL skills preferred
Deaf/ Hard of Hearing Teacher Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across grade levels.
- Support development of language communication auditory skills and academic content.
- Adapt curriculum and materials to meet individual communication and learning needs.
- Conduct assessments and contribute to eligibility determinations for hearing impairment under Delaware regulation 925
- Develop implement and monitor IEP goals including the required Communication Plan for DHH students
- Ensure students have access to appropriate communication modalities and accommodations.
- Maintain accurate records progress monitoring and required state documentation.
- Participate in IEP meetings evaluations and multidisciplinary team discussions.
