Are you passionate about batteries and the data that reveals how they perform age and fail Were building a new cell test lab from the ground up and were looking for a Cell Test Engineer to help design it stand it up and run this role you will own the full lifecycle of cell-level testing: designing test plans building test coupons executing aging and characterization campaigns and turning raw tester output into clear trustworthy results that drive decisions across our cell and power teams.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who thrives on both the physical work of the lab and the digital work of the data pipeline. Youll spec and commission new test equipment define the standards and processes for a growing lab and partner with vendors to keep our testers running. Youll also lean into modern tooling using AI-assisted workflows to dive deep into large datasets. Key job responsibilities
Own the execution of cell-level test campaigns end to end: build coupons prepare and load cells author and validate tester scripts run aging (cycle and calendar) capacity checks and characterization and keep campaigns on schedule across a fleet of testers.
Perform battery qualification and characterization testing across a broad range of methods and specialized equipment including but not limited to vacuum and helium bomb leak testing ultra-high-precision coulometry (UHPC) rapid self-discharge evaluation batch capacity testing nondestructive inspection (CT microscopy) DPA abuse testing (thermal runaway ARC calorimetry etc).
Spec procure install and commission new test and inspection equipment for the new lab developing commissioning checklists that verify equipment across its full operating range and load before real testing begins and partnering with vendors on selection troubleshooting and support.
Monitor equipment daily troubleshoot hardware and software issues and document issues resolutions and test status in Jira and tracking tools.
Process validate and report on test data using Python and AI-assisted workflows; generate plots and summaries flag data-integrity concerns and communicate results to cell and power teams.


- Experience managing lab resources equipment and supplies
- Bachelors degree in engineering chemistry physics materials science or a related technical field or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Demonstrated organization and attention to detail in managing multiple concurrent tasks records and datasets.

- Experience working with equipment suppliers laboratories and manufacturing plants
- Hands-on experience with battery qualification and specialized test/inspection equipment such as vacuum and helium bomb leak testing ultra-high-precision coulometry (UHPC) rapid self-discharge evaluation batch capacity testing CT and SEM nondestructive inspection and glovebox destructive teardowns.
- Familiarity with battery cyclers and test systems such as Arbin or Neware including script authoring and equipment commissioning.
- Understanding of battery fundamentals: how cells degrade how to characterize state of health and how to qualify cells against requirements.
- Experience specifying procuring installing and commissioning lab or test equipment and defining SOPs and commissioning checklists.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
