Job Summary

Gowan/Garrett Inc. is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Driver to support operations by transporting tools equipment materials and supplies to jobsites and facilities. The Driver is responsible for ensuring timely deliveries maintaining compliance with all safety requirements and representing the company in a professional manner while operating company vehicles. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic excellent driving record and commitment to safety.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to performing the following regularly:

  • Safely operate company vehicles in compliance with all federal state and local regulations
  • Transport tools equipment materials parts and supplies to designated locations
  • Load unload and secure materials for transport
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance or repair needs
  • Maintain delivery documentation and vehicle records as required
  • Assist with material organization inventory control and other operational support activities
  • Comply with all company policies procedures OSHA regulations and established safety programs

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-3 years of commercial driving delivery construction or related experience preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid state-issued drivers license with an acceptable driving record required
  • CDL preferred for operation of CDL-regulated vehicles
  • Experience pulling trailers and operating lift-gate trucks preferred
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies OSHA regulations and established safety programs

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to sit stand walk reach bend stoop kneel and climb. The employee must frequently use their hands to handle grasp and move materials or equipment. This position requires the ability to regularly lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 60 pounds or more. Employees must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel to field locations as needed. Specific vision requirements include close vision distance vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a variety of settings including company facilities construction jobsites and public roadways. The employee will be regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions and may encounter dust noise traffic uneven terrain and other construction-related hazards. The position requires frequent travel between locations and adherence to all company safety policies and procedures. Noise levels may range from moderate to loud depending on the work environment.
