Position Summary:
The driver position is responsible for safely operating a commercial motor vehicle and providing prompt and complete collection services.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs complete pre and post operation inspection of a commercial vehicle in accordance with FCC policy to ensure tire pressure fluid levels; safety equipment gauges etc. are in proper working order
Responsible for the safe operation of commercial vehicles on assigned routesto include highways residential communities and alleyways
Operates manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with FCCs safety policies and procedures
Courteously interacts with all necessary personnel dispatchers and others on a daily basis to ensure all services are completed in a timely and professional manner
Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time
Accurately completes required documents and other reports as
Maintains adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner
Responsible for adhering to and upholdingall safety policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
Education:
High School diploma or GED
Experience and Competencies:
Garbage/Recycling experience preferred
Valid CDL Class A or B
Ability to lift or carry heavy objects as necessary
Must meet all qualifications as defined under Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
Must be registered with the FMCSAs Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
