Who We Want

SPEVCO is looking for a full-time program-specific Class A CDL Tour Manager who will travel with this program full-time in the state of Arkansas. As a Tour Manager youll partner with SPEVCOs Event Operations team and a partner Brand Ambassador to produce exciting and engaging Workforce Development events at high schools around the state of Arkansas. It is a requirement that you are a resident of the state of Arkansas. Home base for the program is Little Rock AR.

This program is called Be Pro Be Proud and this specific tour will run solely in the state of Arkansas. Be Pro Be Proud is aimed at engaging high school students to explore careers in various skilled trades such as commercial driving welding heavy equipment operation and more. What Youll Be Doing

The fundamental goal of this position is to engage and excite high school students about skilled trade careers. But a lot goes on behind the scenes to achieve this...

  • Well train you to set up this custom double-expandable trailer and to operate all of the various interactive stations and simulators onboard the trailer
  • Youll travel the state typically Monday - Friday.
    • Specific schedules may vary from week to week
    • Breaks are built around the school schedule such as Thanksgiving Christmas and some time during summers
  • As a Class A CDL holder you will safely drive the event Tractor/Trailer to each event site to set up for the day
  • Execute the days event and pack up for the next days event in partnership with a Brand Ambassador
  • Youll ensure the event trailer and all interactive exhibits and simulators are clean operational and safe
  • Youll be expected to assist the students with the interactive components of the trailer (approximately 25-30 students per class on board the event trailer)
  • Tear down the trailer and pack exhibits each day at the end of the event
  • While tour stops are pre-planned youll need to work with your point of contact at each school/event site to ensure the days events are properly planned for
  • Full training will be provided including safe operation of the event trailer operation of all simulators and technology aboard the trailer talking points ELDs and more

Compensation is a competitive salary and is dependent on your experience in our unique addition to salary our Tour Managers receive a healthy per diem while on the road.

The Nitty Gritty Requirements and Preferences

  • Leadership Integrity and Positive Energy
  • Must be a resident of Arkansas currently live in that state and have an Arkansas Class A drivers license
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Desire to work with high school-aged students (it helps to be young at heart regardless of your age)
  • Ability to engage and create excitement around careers in various skilled trades
  • A valid Class A drivers license with a clean driving record and a valid DOT Medical Certificate is required
  • 2 Years of Class A driving expewrice with 53ft trailers.
  • Some schools and/or school systems may require that you agree to a background check before arriving on-site
    • Clean criminal and motor vehicle background (youre working with young people on school property)
  • Experience with moving and setting up custom expandable event trailers strongly preferred
  • Comfortable with public speaking in front of small groups and working with individuals
  • Strong client service skills and a desire to help our clients achieve their goals
  • Comfortable troubleshooting mechanical and technology problems with SPEVCOs expert support
  • Ability to self-manage and work independently and as part of a team for long periods of time
  • Computer skills Ability to use a tablet computer (Android-based) email MS Suite various Web-Based applications ELDs etc
  • Willingness to maintain a show-ready clean vehicle and exhibit
  • Strong safety mindset and desire to be part of and promote our safety culture
  • Must be the safest of drivers over the road.


Physical & Mental Requirements

Must have the physical and mental strength and endurance to be able to perform duties in at times extreme environments as well as the ability to handle stressors of the position in operational and administrative situations. Required to frequently lift and move 50-100 pounds. Expected to stand sit walk climb balance lift reach stoop kneel crouch crawl bend talk hear taste smell see and operate objects tools and controls.
