Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Category Manager to join our team. The Category Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of products and services for our clients ensuring that they meet their needs and expectations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement and supply chain management as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement category strategies to meet business objectives and drive cost savings

- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and negotiate contracts

- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and develop sourcing plans

- Manage supplier relationships and performance including contract negotiations and ongoing evaluations

- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as relevant industry regulations

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners

- Monitor and report on key performance indicators to track progress and identify areas for improvement

- Stay updated on industry developments and best practices to continuously improve category management processes

- Train and mentor junior team members to develop their skills and knowledge in category management

Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in business supply chain management or a related field

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management preferably in a consulting or engineering industry

- Strong understanding of category management principles and best practices

- Excellent negotiation communication and interpersonal skills

- Proven track record of driving cost savings and efficiency improvements through strategic sourcing

- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement software

- Experience with project management and cross-functional collaboration

- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements
