Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with P-3 Project Manager as needed in executing Kosasa Foundations Extended Learning Assessment and Planning for Public PreK project activities.
  • Function as the local liaison between Hawaii P-20 Partnerships for Education and Kauai- based stakeholders including HIDOE complex areas the Executive Office on Early Learning the Hawaii State Public Charter Schools local Head Start programs and community providers.
  • Recruit and coordinate participation for 8-10 focus groups and interviews (statewide) involving parents school administrators and community-based child care providers.
  • Assist and support the data collection and field research tasks in coordination with a contracted research and evaluation vendor including
  • Assist with data analysis and reporting including contributing and providing feedback on the feasibility study report.
  • Co-present the findings to the key stakeholders including Kauai community andpolicymakers to build support for future pilot opportunities.
  • Maintain detailed records of outreach efforts and participant data.
  • Work independently without close supervision and performs most assignments with instructions as to the general results expected.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Possession of a baccalaureate degree in education public administration social sciences or related fields and 3 year(s) of progressively responsible work experiences in program coordination and implementation; or equivalent education/training or experience.
  • Working experience in convening and facilitating meetings with work groups consisting of multi-sector professionals.
  • Familiarity with the Kauai County community including its geographic layout school complexes and early childhood landscape.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating a personal computer for word processing presentations and spreadsheets.
  • Experience in working with people from all backgrounds and abilities.
  • Ability to compile and analyze data for reporting and summarizing outcomes.
  • Excellent organizational file management analytical and decision-making skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience working in community-based organizations early childhood education programs and/or elementary schools.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and familiarity of the four early childhood settings in Hawaii.
