*** Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University of Hawaii may apply for Casual Hire positions which include administrative professional and technical (APT) or instructional-type positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular Board of Regents (BOR) and Civil Service employees (i.e. paid holidays/leave). Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees and up to 1 calendar year for part-time employees.

Other Conditions: Casual Hire temporary appointment is expected to begin August 2026 or soon thereafter. Not to exceed one year.
Duties:
1. Assists the Head Coach and Softball Program with:
a. Developing a program that will be competitive in the Pacific West Conference.
b. Planning scheduling and conducting team practices and workouts.
c. Managing all aspects of home contests including coordination of facilities and officials.
2. Responsible for ordering keeping inventory and maintenance of uniforms supplies and equipment.
3. Responsible for field maintenance and field improvement.
4. Responsible for completing and submitting all required compliance forms and timely submission of CARA and recruit logs.
5. Know and abide by the rules regulations and policies of the University of Hawaii the Athletics Department the Pacific West Conference and the NCAA.
6. Perform other duties/functions as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:- Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in any field; or any equivalent combination of education and/or coaching experience provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated.
- Two (2) years of experience in coaching Softball at the collegiate level.
- Proficient in Google Docs Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to travel in-state and out-of-state.
- Prior NCAA DII coaching experience.
- Experience coaching Softball at the collegiate level in an Assistant Coach position.
- Cover letter explaining how qualifications are met
