Summary:

The Cast Technician provides specialized orthopedic technical and clinical support within a specialty clinic setting. The role applies modifies repairs and removes casts splints braces and other orthopedic devices under the direction of a physician or other qualified healthcare provider. The role performs Medical Assistant functions to support patient intake examinations treatments procedures documentation and efficient clinic operations.

The position works collaboratively with physicians advance practice providers nurses Medical Assistants and other members of the healthcare team to provide safe coordinated and age-appropriate care to patients and families.

Experience

  • 2 years of experience providing clinical support as a Medical Assistant or Cast Technician including patient assessments performing orthopedic casting splinting bracing or related experience is required.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Licensure Registration and/or Certification

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
