The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation seeks candidates for a full-time Casework Supervisor position. The person hired for this position will be based at the Bangor CareerCenter and will support rehabilitation counselors and other staff in the delivery of vocational rehabilitation services. This position conducts extensive work with partners including individuals with disabilities families employers Clubhouse and community providers.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Reviews and approves or disapproves acceptances plans and closures of cases in order to assist in attaining unit goals and objectives.
  • Trains and/or arranges for training in rehabilitation methods and techniques in order to develop and maintain staff proficiency.
  • Reviews and analyzes prior case services expenses available monies and client population needs in order to establish performance goals estimate case services financial needs and submit recommendations to the Regional Director.
  • Monitors assigns reviews analyzes and evaluates the quality and quantity of ongoing vocational rehabilitative casework in order to ensure services provided are adequate and consistent with established policies and procedures.
  • Reviews and analyzes the amount type and frequency of counselors service delivery expenditures in order to ensure appropriateness and effectiveness of expenditures.
  • Prepares and submits reports to Regional Director on client services and service deliveries in order to provide information.
  • Oversees and evaluates employee performance in order to maintain employee effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Orients new employees in order to acquaint them with agency operations and activities.
  • Confers with and counsels subordinate staff on rehabilitative casework in order to identify problems formulate solutions and exchange information.
  • Negotiates and resolves disputes between counselors and clients in order to minimize client appeals and maintain appropriate service delivery.
  • Develops implements monitors and reports on technically difficult client rehabilitation programs in order to document program activities and provide information.
  • Develops and recommends policies and procedures in order to improve program.
  • Analyzes identifies assesses and modifies program services in order to ensure program goals and objectives are met.
  • Implements and complies with human resource laws policies procedures and practices such as: AA/EEO recruitment employment position classification performance appraisals training discipline contract administration human resource components of security protocols of agency information security and confidentiality policies and employee safety.

Minimum qualifications:

An eight (8) year combination of education training and/or experience which demonstrates knowledge of social and rehabilitation casework theories concepts and principles and which includes at least two (2) years experience in the practical application of vocational rehabilitation casework practices.
