What you will be doing

• The CM MHP IMCANS Specialist is responsible for ensuring assessments remain updated every six months for all adult clients who are diagnosed with persistent mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders seeking services in BH Outpatient/PSR and Supported Programs.
• Provision of assessment counseling skills training and case management services to a caseload of clients who are diagnosed with persistent mental illness.
• Demonstrate understanding of chronic illnesses frequently experienced by those diagnosed with severe mental illness.
• Demonstrate knowledge of assessments and treatment planning.
• Track outcomes be highly organized and have strong clinical writing skills.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Attend scheduled work hours
• Provide IMCANS reassessment services to clients.
• Complete clinical assessments that meet the requirements of program funders and applicable administrative rules
• Provide case management services as medically necessary
• Complete required documentation (IMCANS documentation including encounters consents) on a timely basis
• Meet minimum service hour provision productivity standards.
• Acquire and maintain required certifications and trainings
• Maintain professional judgment and performance regardless of personal issues
• Abide by AIDs Code of Ethics policies and procedures

What will you bring to the table

Education: Bachelors degree in a human services field required

Experience:At least 1 year of experience in behavioral health preferredIMCANS certified or obtained within 30 days

Physical: Tolerance of a variety of home and living conditions of clients

Equipment: Computer with working knowledge of Microsoft Windows machineTelephone with voice mail system

Additional Requirements:

• Flexibility to work evening hours
• Use of personal automobile for self clients and other staff.
• Maintain automobile liability insurance as defined by AIDs personnel policies
• Maintain valid Illinois drivers license
• Meet/maintain driving record standards as defined by AIDs insurance carrier.
