Summary
The Carrier Sales Representative plays a key role within the Road US brokerage team responsible for sourcing securing and managing carrier capacity to support DSVs freight operations. This position builds and maintains strong carrier partnerships to deliver superior service competitive pricing and reliable transportation solutions for our customers. The role involves daily carrier engagement load coordination rate negotiation and proactive shipment tracking from pickup through final delivery to ensure accuracy efficiency and customer satisfaction. This position will work a Friday - Monday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM schedule.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Source negotiate and secure carriers and drivers to cover available freight in a cost-effective and service-focused manner.
  • Manage daily dispatch operations ensuring accurate communication of shipment details to carriers.
  • Track and monitor shipments from pickup through delivery providing timely updates to internal teams and customers.
  • Collect and verify all carrier documentation for on-time shipment closeout and billing.
  • Build develop and maintain long-term carrier relationships to strengthen capacity reliability and responsiveness.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers to provide operational support pricing input and customer updates as needed.
  • Assist with customer service and account management functions to ensure consistent communication and successful delivery performance.
  • Stay informed on current market conditions rate trends and seasonal fluctuations to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Generate new carrier leads and onboard qualified partners to expand DSVs carrier network.
  • Proactively identify and resolve shipment or service issues using sound judgment and effective problem-solving.
  • Perform additional duties and project work as assigned.


Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in logistics freight brokerage or customer service (3 years preferred).
  • Minimum 1 year of carrier sales experience with a focus on drayage (3 years preferred).
  • Strong understanding of transportation and drayage operations including carrier regulations and best practices.


Skills & Competencies

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Teams PowerPoint); advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Strong negotiation persuasion and relationship-building abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Analytical thinker with strong mathematical aptitude for pricing and rate analysis.
  • Highly organized detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Thrives under pressure and demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
  • Positive motivated and team-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Professional phone presence and effective interpersonal communication skills.


Physical Demands

Work is primarily sedentary and performed in an office setting requiring frequent use of a computer phone and other standard office equipment. Some movement such as standing walking or light lifting (up to 15 pounds) may be necessary to perform daily tasks or support on-site recruiting events. The role may occasionally require travel to driver terminals job fairs or other recruiting locations which could involve extended periods of standing or walking. Hours may be extended or staggered to support multi-shift recruiting needs and to maintain communication with candidates across time zones. While performing the duties of this job the employee will regularly use their hands for typing and handling documents as well as engage in frequent talking and listening. Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.

For this position the expected base pay range is $60000.00 $70000.00 Annual. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience skills education certifications and geographic location in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
