LICENSED CERTIFIED EXPERIENCED OR BRAND NEW THERES A SPOT FOR YOU
We hire Home Health Aides four different ways. Pick the one that matches your background and see how fast you could start.
GOT AN STNA LICENSE (active or expired)
Start in 1-3 days. $18/hour.
Your license proves you passed the state competency test. You skip our written and skills test entirely. Active or expired doesnt matter.
What you do:
1. Apply with your STNA license number

5. Online orientation document verification (30-40 minutes)
6. Fingerprinting
GOT AN HHA CERTIFICATE (30 hours)
Start in 5-8 days. $16-18/hour based on interview.
Certificate must be 30 hours signed by RN (unless completed online).

2. Phone talk (20 minutes)
3. Short online questionnaire
4. Take the HHA test at our Cuyahoga Falls office (scheduled with you)
5. Sign your paperwork online

WORKED UNDER AN RN OR LPN FOR 1 YEAR (no certificate needed)
Start in 5-8 days after we verify. $16-18/hour based on interview.
You need 1 year at one company where your supervisor was an RN or LPN.
Jobs where this applies:
- Nursing homes
- Hospitals
- Skilled home health agencies (Medicare-certified)
- Assisted living with licensed nurses on staff
Jobs where this does NOT apply:
- Non-medical home care agencies (supervisor was a care coordinator or office manager)
- Private caregiving for family or friends
- Any workplace without a licensed nurse as your supervisor
Ohio requires Home Health Aides to have training OR supervised experience under a licensed nurse. We dont make this rule the state does.
IMPORTANT HOW WE VERIFY YOUR EXPERIENCE
Ohio law requires us to verify your experience by calling your former employer directly. They confirm your dates that you worked there 1 year and that your supervisor was an RN or LPN.
This will NOT work if:
- Your former employer uses The Work Number or another third-party verification service (those services only confirm basic dates they dont confirm RN/LPN supervision which is what Ohio requires)
- The company has closed and no longer has records of your employment
- They cant or wont verify the details we need
If your old employer uses The Work Number we cannot use this pathway for you. You may need GOT AN HHA CERTIFICATE or NO EXPERIENCE AT ALL pathways instead.
Not sure how your old employer verifies employment Call their HR department before you apply or text us at and well help you figure it out.
What you do:
1. Apply include your former employers name phone number your RN or LPN supervisors name and title and the dates you worked there
2. We call your old employer to verify your experience AND confirm your supervisor was an RN or LPN

No background needed. We give you free online training 32 hours done from home. We teach everything.

Dont finish training in 6 days We close your application. If something comes up text us right away.
CANT VERIFY YOUR EXPERIENCE CERTIFICATE DOESNT QUALIFY
Maybe the company you worked for closed. Maybe theres no one left to call or they only use a service like The Work Number. Thats okay. Youre not turned away. You can still join by taking our free online training to qualify.
And because you already have a care background your pay stays based on your interview ($16-18/hour) not the brand-new rate. Only people with no experience at all start at $16.
THE STATE TEST
Ohio law says all Home Health Aides must pass a competency test. Two parts: written questions and skills you demonstrate. 80% on both parts. Both happen in person at our Cuyahoga Falls office we find a time that works for you.
Passed this test at another company Show us results with 80% or higher and you skip it.
One thing we ask: our nurse drives to the office just for your test nothing else. If you cant make it text BEFORE your test time. Well reschedule you no problem. But if you just dont show up our nurse waited for nothing. We take that seriously.
STNAs skip the test entirely. Your license active or expired is all you need.
WHAT HOME HEALTH AIDES DO
You visit people in their homes and help with everyday tasks. Mostly older adults. Baths getting dressed making meals light cleaning running errands keeping them company. This is physical work you help people move around and youre standing most of the day. If you need help doing these tasks tell us. We can talk about what might work.
You do NOT give medicine or handle medical tasks. Nurses do that.
BEFORE YOU APPLY IS THIS WORK FOR YOU
Home care isnt just a job. Its a calling.
This work is for people who actually CARE about the elderly community. Not people just chasing a paycheck. Our clients are vulnerable many cant get through the day without help. They depend on you showing up.
Weve seen people quit after one shift. Weve seen people quit after 1-2 weeks because the travel between clients was too much or the work itself wasnt cut out for them. That hurts us but it hurts the client more. A vulnerable person who needed help suddenly doesnt have it. They cant just figure it out.
So think hard before you apply. If you start working with a client and then quit or have attendance problems that client struggles to get through their day.
This line of work is hard. But for the right person someone with empathy someone whose heart is in this its deeply rewarding.

We match based on how far youll travel not city names alone. Tell us 30 minutes and we may place you with clients anywhere in that range.
PAY BREAKDOWN
STNA: $18/hour
HHA certificate or experience: $16-18/hour based on interview
Free training: $16/hour
Private pay client you referred:
- HHA: $19/hour
- STNA: $20/hour
10% extra on holidays.
Paid every 2 weeks. Direct deposit. W-2 job.
Drive time between clients is paid. To your first or from your last client is not.
SCHEDULED RAISES
3 raises in your first 2 years:
90-day review: $0.50/hour
1-year review: $0.50/hour more
2-year review: $1.00/hour more
Up to $2.00/hour more total.
Miss one It carries over to your next review. You still have a shot at it.
$16/hour example:
90 days: $16.50 1 year: $17.00 2 years: $18.00
$18/hour example:
90 days: $18.50 1 year: $19.00 2 years: $20.00
Start higher because of experience Raises stack on top.
What earns a raise:
At each review you grade yourself on 11 items. Then you sign. Then we grade you on the same items. All 1s (highest) and the raise is yours. Heres what matters:
SHOWING UP:
- Be on time
- Clock in and out (app or phone)
- Follow call-off steps if you cant make a shift
CLIENT CARE:
- Follow policies
- Accept clients that match the limits YOU gave us
- Report incidents within 24 hours
- Get good feedback from clients
- Dont be the reason a client leaves Haven. Most common reasons: frequent call-offs no-call/no-shows. If a client leaves us because of you it impacts your raise.
STAYING IN TOUCH:
- Answer office calls and texts quickly
- Send updated documents when we ask (insurance license training)
- Complete feedback forms when sent
Hit the mark The raise is automatic. We dont keep it from good caregivers.
BONUSES ON TOP
$100 after 30 days with perfect attendance every shift on time zero call-offs.
$300 when you refer a caregiver who stays $100 at 60 hours worked $200 more at 200 hours.
$75-$1500 when you refer a private pay client based on their hours.
Refer anyone friends family neighbors to work here or as a private pay client. The bonuses above apply.
WE MATCH CLIENTS TO YOUR LIMITS
In your phone interview you tell us: pets smoking travel distance days and times. We only assign clients that match what YOU said. Period.
THE GUARANTEE: If you can travel anywhere we have clients AND work with any client you WILL start working. Quickly. We always have clients somewhere. And if theres no immediate match in your area youre first in line when one opens up.
THE REALITY: If you have travel limits or preferences specific cities certain days/times no pets no smoking we respect them 100%. But your client availability WILL be smaller. Thats not a maybe thats math.
Example: We have 5 clients open today but all 5 are in Akron. If you only want Stow clients you WILL wait until a Stow client opens up. Same for any limit you set.
First 2 weeks we check reliability with fill-in shifts. But if permanent clients match you right away we assign them right away.
After that your regulars are yours same people every week. Most Home Health Aides have 2-4 regulars. Want more hours Grab fill-in shifts anytime.
ABOUT SHIFT LENGTHS
Shifts can be as short as 2-3 hours per visit. Some are 4-6 hours. Some are 8 hours. It depends on what the client needs.
If a client needs help with a morning bath and breakfast thats a 2-hour shift. To get to your 20 hours/week youll usually have several clients across different days.
Dont expect every shift to be a 6-8 hour block with one client. Most arent.
WHAT FLEXIBLE MEANS HERE
Flexible means the days and times you told us you can work.
Flexible does NOT mean calling off whenever you want or skipping shifts you dont feel like doing.
Our clients are older adults who depend on you showing up. If you commit to Monday-Friday afternoons during your phone interview we expect Monday-Friday afternoons. Attendance is one of the biggest things we look at its part of the raise criteria.
If your life changes and you need different hours tell us. We can work with you. What we cant work with is no-shows and last-minute call-offs.

DOCUMENT CHECK
Federal law requires us to verify your identity and work authorization. During your orientation video call youll show your original documents on camera. You choose which documents to bring well send you the full list.
