Job Overview:

Are you passionate about supporting families affected by dementia and helping caregivers navigate one of lifes most challenging journeys We are seeking a Dementia Caregiver Education Specialist to provide caregiver education classes support groups one-on-one follow up as well as community outreach efforts that improve the lives of individuals living with dementia and those who care for them. Travel required and will be reimbursed at the State rate.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role you will serve as a trusted resource for family caregivers providing education coaching and connections to services that help families better understand dementia manage caregiving challenges and access community supports. You will build relationships with community organizations faith-based groups and senior-serving agencies to expand access to caregiver support services particularly in rural and underserved communities. Through outreach and partnership development you will help identify caregivers who may be struggling in isolation and connect them with resources that promote caregiver well-being and quality of life.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates should have a bachelors degree in human services or a related field or equivalent professional experience. Experience working with older adults individuals living with dementia family caregivers or community-based programs is strongly preferred.

Required Skills and Abilities:

The ideal candidate is an engaging educator and skilled facilitator who is comfortable speaking to groups building community partnerships and supporting families facing complex caregiving situations.

  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to sit use hands to handle objects and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stand walk climb balance stoop kneel or crouch.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to travel frequently throughout the service area.

Preferred Qualifications:Fluent Spanish speaker.
