Job Summary

Position Summary

The Career Tech Specialist provides administrative support for the Career Tech Departments. This position is also responsible for scheduling supervising and proctoring test in the testing department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and administering classes for Career Tech Courses as well as managing the academic calendar maintaining the course schedule by term analyzing faculty loads maintaining an efficient filing system and preparing memos reports and other documents as required by College policies regulatory guidelines and other credentialing and accrediting entities.
  • Maintains confidentiality of student files and course affiliation agreements and maintain a master file of current course syllabi and final examinations of all courses as required by the Department of Archives and History and other agencies.
  • Schedule/ Supervise/ Proctor placement testing services for applicants and students for various testing including: Career Skills online training ACT WorkKeys tests placement assessments academic departmental exams as requested national certification exams GED CLEP miscellaneous proctored exams/assessments and other forms of non-traditional college credit assessment.
  • Assist with marketing and promoting all Career Tech classes and business solutions to the community and Assist with serving as liaison to business and industry state agencies government economic development and associations to meet workforce needs.
  • Foster a customer service environment for fellow employees students and visitors. Be ru1 Ambassador for the College. Support the colleges initiative to maximize retention of current students and enable students to finish their collegiate goals.
  • Comply with all policies of the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees the ACCS Chancellors Office ru1d the College.
  • Participate in College functions (Award and Honor events Alumni Homecoming Commencement etc.).
  • Assume other work related responsibilities as assigned by the appropriately assigned College administrator.

Qualifications

The Career Tech Specialist must have a minimum of an associate degree and three years of experience in office management.
