Career Center Coordinator

I. Reporting Relationships

Position Reports to: Director of the Career Center

Supervisory Responsibility: Student Staff

Indirect Supervisory Responsibility: None

Position Backup is: Director of the Career Center

Salary Range:$25000-$30000/annually

  1. Basic Function

The Career Services Coordinator will support the Director of Career Services in fostering high levels of student engagement and in implementing programs that achieve strategic University goals related to career include career readiness education managing career platforms and data analysis coaching and advising supporting internship and employment initiatives and maintaining strong employer and community relationships.

  1. Essential Functions
  1. Support graduate and professional students through focused individual and group career counseling programming and events.
  1. Collaborates with academic departments faculty and campus partners to integrate career readiness initiatives into the student experience.
  1. Develop facilitate and assess career service fairs workshops panels and events both virtual and in-person that cater to student needs and interests.
  1. Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with employers community organizations government agencies and other external partners to expand internship and employment opportunities for students and alumni.
  1. Maintains accurate student employer internship and employment records using career management systems and other University technologies.
  1. Collects analyzes and assists with reporting participation data employment outcomes internship placements and other departmental assessment measures.
  1. Manage student and employer accounts in Handshake. Oversee appointment workflows and process student requests. Review postings for accuracy and compliance. Generate reports on student and employer activity.
  1. Maintain appointment workflows in Navigate. Update schedules and service availability. Support communication templates and track engagement trends.
  1. Support the Gator Growth Internship Program through communication with supervisors and tracking intern progress. Support Canvas components and manage documentation. Assist with orientations and endofsemester presentations.
  1. Assist with outreach to graduating students. Support data entry and verification. Contribute to reporting on student outcomes and employer engagement.
  1. Support onboarding and supervision of student workers and interns. Manage scheduling and communication. Maintain workflow between staff and student employees.
  1. Monitor the Career Center inbox and respond to routine questions. Support marketing and outreach. Create Canva materials for events and programs. Assist with event setup and general office operations.
  1. Serve on University committees taskforces workgroups etc. as designated.
  1. Performssuchsimilarcomparableorrelateddutiesasmaybeassignedorrequired.
  1. Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree in higher education student affairs counseling business human resources communications marketing or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Two years of professional experience in higher education career services employer relations student affairs workforce development or a related administrative role. Previous experience in career services/development preferred.

Skills/Aptitude:

  • Experience supporting student programs internships workshops or employer engagement activities.
  • Experience using Handshake Navigate or similar career services platforms.
  • Experience creating marketing materials using Canva or comparable design tools.
  • Experience coordinating student workers or interns preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and collaboratively with others as a part of a team including establishing positive working relationships with a diverse group of University stakeholders.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment (walking sitting climbing stairs reaching etc.). Light physical demands such as bending carrying kneeling lifting and pushing may be required. Some occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
