Medical Billing & Patient Care Coordinator (Part-Time)

Are you an experienced medical biller or healthcare administrator looking for a flexible part-time role with meaningful patient impact IMC is hiring a Medical Billing & Patient Care Coordinator to support both our revenue cycle operations and our patient care programs.

WHAT YOULL DO

Medical Billing & Revenue Cycle (60%)

- Submit process and monitor medical insurance claims

- Verify insurance eligibility benefits and coverage

- Follow up with insurance companies on claim status and reimbursements

- Manage accounts receivable and unpaid balances

- Support collections and insurance follow-up activity

- Identify billing and coding opportunities to optimize reimbursement

- Assist patients with billing questions and account inquiries

- Maintain HIPAA compliance and payer requirements

Patient Care Coordination (40%)

- Serve as the primary contact for patients and health plan members

- Educate patients on benefits and guide them through telehealth and digital health programs

- Coordinate appointments for in-person and virtual care

- Review referrals pre-certifications and eligibility information

- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation

- Generate reports using Microsoft Excel

- Collaborate with providers employers and health plans

REQUIREMENTS

- 2 years experience in medical billing healthcare administration patient coordination or healthcare customer service

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Excellent organizational and time management abilities

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook)

- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Medical billing and claims processing experience

- Insurance verification and prior authorization experience

- Revenue cycle management and accounts receivable experience

- EMR/EHR experience

- Familiarity with CPT codes ICD-10 and medical terminology

- Experience in physical therapy orthopedic or outpatient healthcare settings
