About the Role
The primary purpose of the Cardiovascular Technician position is to provide direct patient care perform as a scrub person during Cath Lab procedures perform hemodynamic and physiologic monitoring assist in the preparation of the procedural room and set-up of table and equipment for procedures under the direction and supervision of a Physician and Registered Nurse.
What Youll Do
- Provide direct patient care in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab).
- Perform scrub duties during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures.
- Monitor and record hemodynamic and physiological patient data throughout procedures.
- Prepare the procedure room including equipment instruments and supplies.
- Set up and maintain the procedure table and related equipment.
- Assist physicians and registered nurses during Cath Lab procedures.
- Ensure procedural areas and equipment are ready and functioning properly.
- Carry out duties under the direction and supervision of a physician and registered nurse.
What Youll Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program or equivalent training; or successful completion of the Cardiovascular Technologist Internship Program within the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Department.
- Minimum of two (2) years of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory experience.
- Experience with:
- Cardiac hemodynamic monitoring
- Physiologic monitoring
- Providing first-line sterile assistance during diagnostic and/or interventional cardiac procedures
- CVT (Cardiovascular Technician) or RCVT (Registered Cardiovascular Technologist) certification is highly preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required.
