This per diem position will be responsible for the care and management of cardiothoracic surgical patients in the ICU such as:

• Work in conjunction with the attending cardiothoracic surgeon and non-surgical providers for medical care of cardiothoracic surgical patients.

• Perform initial evaluation history and physical examination of all assigned patients.

• Placement of invasive monitoring lines including central venous catheters dialysis lines and arterial access.

• Participate in ongoing education quality and research projects.

• Contribute to service-related databases as indicated.

• Participate in education of patients and families during their inpatient course.

• Support the mission and goals of Lehigh Valley Health Network.

Qualifications

• Must be Board Certified in acute care

• A Valid Pennsylvania Medical License or ability to obtain one is required

• Experience as an APC managing an ICU or OHU environment
