Cardiac Sonographer

Call Requirements:-1 Week of On-Call that is scheduled approximately every 5th or 6th week-One Hospital Holiday each year (rotates year to year)-Can switch on-call and holiday with other Echo Techs with supervisor approvalUnder the direction of a physician performs a variety of cardiac ultrasound procedures that require independent judgement ingenuity and initiative in the creation of technically diagnostic exams for interpretation by a cardiologist or radiologist. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health technically diagnostic quality exams for physician interpretation in a timely cardiologists or appropriate physician during invasive ultrasound proceduresMaintains current NH State License and appropriate quality ultrasound exams on patients in assigned clinical protocols and order requisition for pertinent information special requests and correct procedures as physician order for procedure/ patient reception staff with patient information as completion of documentation on patient exams and completes all required processes to assure appropriate exam medical supplies and required stock items in all rooms. Prepares and cleans patient exam all equipment necessary to perform patient exam duties as consistent with this Requirements: (education and experience/preferred and required)Job Knowledge and SkillsCommunicates effectively and professionally with patients visitors and families as well as staff and and ExperienceDegree or certificate from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education accredited sonography program requiredCertification in cardiac ultrasound by the ARDMS or CCI within 12 months of Life Support requiredAn equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience Conditions/Physical DemandsMust possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position that involves a combination of sitting standing walking bending stooping and reaching. Lifting/carrying frequently up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
