Job Summary

As a Cardiac Sonographer I you will play an important role in supporting timely diagnosis and treatment by performing comprehensive echocardiograms and related cardiac ultrasound studies for adult and/or pediatric patients in outpatient and hospital-based settings.Qualifications
About the Role
Following an orientation period you will independently perform comprehensive transthoracic echocardiograms and/or bubble studies while demonstrating foundational knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy physiology and pathology within your assigned patient population. You will review clinical indications acquire high-quality diagnostic images prepare accurate preliminary findings and collaborate with interpreting physicians and care teams to support safe efficient and compassionate patient care.
What Youll Do
- Prepare exam rooms and ultrasound equipment in accordance with infection control sterilization and patient safety protocols.
- Review patient history clinical indications and prior reports or images to understand the purpose of each examination.
- Position patients appropriately and use ergonomic scanning techniques to support patient comfort sonographer safety and a positive patient and family experience.
- Perform comprehensive transthoracic echocardiograms independently within six months of hire following department protocols and assigned patient population needs.
- Perform ultrasound contrast studies agitated saline bubble studies and complex portable studies when indicated.
- Acquire high-quality diagnostic images and recognize cardiovascular anatomy physiology and pathology relevant to the examination.
- Prepare accurate preliminary reports and communicate findings to the interpreting physician in a timely manner.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support activities necessary to maintain accreditation standards.
- Assist with scheduling and patient flow to support efficient departmental operations.
- Meet productivity and volume expectations as defined by department standards.
- Maintain patient privacy and comply with patient safety departmental hospital and organizational policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
- Basic Life Support certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
