Job Summary:

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado School of Medicine invites applications for the position of Integrated SW in the Colorado Adolescent Maternity Program (CAMP) at UCHealth. CAMP is a psychosocial support program for pregnant adolescents ages 22 and under and is integrated into patients obstetric care. CAMP is supported by both the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Department of Psychiatry and serves a diverse patient population with multiple intersecting identities including race ethnicity sexual orientation gender identity religion and socioeconomic status. The Integrated SW will provide a variety of support and services in the context of patients medical care.

This position is responsible for direct patient care in an ambulatory setting to high risk and psychosocially complex perinatal adolescents. The Integrated SW will provide psychosocial assessment brief interventions support and education. Patient presenting problems include but are not limited to very young maternal age psychosocial stress and resource needs interpersonal violence sexual assault child protection concerns depression trauma substance misuse complex mental health concerns medical adherence issues and adjustment to pregnancy. The Integrated SW will work closely with CAMP team members including a care coordinator dietician and psychologist as well as other obstetric integrated behavioral health clinicians. This is an onsite position with clinical services provided in-person and via telehealth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care including psychosocial assessment intervention and education in close collaboration with other members of the CAMP team.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and actively builds relationships with all patients.
  • Offer relationship substance use and parenting education and support to adolescent families including at monthly classes.
  • Support transitions including care coordination and warm handoffs to community partners such as pediatric practices mental health providers schools and other community resources.
  • Address barriers to care and social drivers of health in the context of obstetric care.
  • Respond to urgent child protection concerns and coordinates with child protection agencies.
  • Actively engage in relationships with on-campus and community programs that support these patients.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. The ranks are based on how many years a candidate has been licensed and if they want to pursue the promotions track.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor Senior Instructor Assistant Professor Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

  • Instructor Sr. Instructor Assistant Professor:
  • 1-3 years of related (pick one: clinical/research) experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum degree qualifications: LCSW or MSW

  • Associate Professor:
  • 4-7 years of related (pick one: clinical/research) experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum degree qualifications: LCSW or MSW

  • Professor:
  • 7 years of related (pick one: clinical/research) experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum degree qualifications: LCSW or MSW

Track:

Ranks of Instructor and Senior Instructor will be on the TTE track and given an opportunity to switch tracks if needed at a later time.
