We value all members of our team in a supportive environment in which everyone is treated with appreciation and respect and positioned to do their best work every : The Assistant Camper support position works in close partnership with the Head of Camper Support to identify and assist campers who require additional support to succeed throughout their camp day. This position is responsible for effective communication with campers counselors and parents ensuring a positive and inclusive summer camp experience. Length of Position:June 22- August 14 2026- approx. 8:15 am -4:45 pmOrientation Schedule:June 11: 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm (New Staff Only)June 14: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm June 16: 4:30 pm - 8:30 pm June 17: 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm June 18: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Review camper information and support a caseload of campers with diverse social emotional and behavioral needs. Assist the Head of Camper Support during Orientation week to disseminate camper profiles to Directors and Unit Heads and facilitate the implementation of individualized support as a resource for staff offering guidance and troubleshooting solutions for interpersonal needs (camper-to-camper and staff-to-camper).Provide intervention in situations where conflicts or behavioral issues arise that cannot be resolved by bunk counselors or division peer mediation to resolve informal non-clinical counseling to both campers and staff individually and in groups as positive behavioral support to enhance the camper communication with parents regarding camper needs and resources and provide guidance to parents needing additional support for their childrenCreate and/or distribute behavior plans for campers and train counselors to ensure they are being used appropriately and consistently. Meet daily with the Head of Camper Support to discuss ongoing camper needs and actions interactions and progress in Camp Minder on a daily basis. Ensure compliance with all camp policies and a role in daily transportation at IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:Experience at summer camp or similar environment of the developmental needs of children and the ability to foster positive relationships with both children and ability to follow directions collaborate as a team member and lead when leadership and organizational to ask for assistance when needed or to work in an outdoor communication skills with the ability to relate to individuals in a positive and supportive :Must be at least 22 years of -level or higher degree in a mental health-related field (e.g. social work mental health counseling psychology youth psychiatry family therapy). A graduate level student in such a program may also be experience working with children in a camp school or recreations setting is SKILLS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:The work environment may be fast paced and requires high energy and interaction with others. This often involves standing for extended periods and working in outdoor settings.
