About VMCH
VMCHs innovative social enterprise café in Kensington is on the lookout for a Barista with hospitality and Disability experience to help people with disability build job skills confidence and independence.
In this hands-on role youll support and train our café trainees as they gain experience in a welcoming inclusive environment. Working alongside hospitality and disability professionals youll help deliver great coffee great food and even greater opportunities.
About the role
You will guide trainees in developing barista food prep and customer service skillshelping them grow personally and professionally on their journey toward employment and independence.
Whether youre a qualified DSW or a hospitality professional looking to make a meaningful career shift this is a truly rewarding opportunity to make a difference in a vibrant inclusive café environment.
This is a casual position covering opening hours of 7.00am - 3.00pm.
Skills experience & requirements
- Experience and confidence operating a coffee machine
- Experience in the hospitality and/or disability sector
- Certificate IV in Disability (preferred but not essential)
- Food Safety Handling Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- Confident and capable of teaching and training hospitality skills (essential)
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Excellent communication organization and time management skills
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
