Bridge Brothers is one of the fastest-growing bridge companies in the United States. We design engineer fabricate and construct highly customized steel bridge systems for public and private clients nationwide.
As we continue to grow we are expanding our in-house engineering and detailing capabilities and are seeking a CAD Designer to support the development of fabrication assembly and construction drawings for complex bridge and structural steel projects.
The CAD Designer plays a critical role in supporting the Engineering team by creating revising and maintaining detailed production drawings for bridge and structural steel projects. This position owns drafting execution allowing Engineers to focus on higher-level design analysis and project execution.
The ideal candidate enjoys transforming engineering concepts into clear accurate and buildable drawings while collaborating closely with engineering fabrication quality and operations teams. This role will have an immediate impact as Bridge Brothers continues to bring more detailing and drafting functions in-house.
- Create revise and maintain production detail and assembly drawings.
- Develop fabrication and construction drawings with all required views dimensions tolerances and notes.
- Produce finished drawings from engineering sketches markups and design concepts.
- Draft detailed multi-view drawings of structural components assemblies and bridge systems.
- Utilize CAD software to support project execution from concept through fabrication and installation.
- Verify dimensions materials part relationships and constructability.
- Perform basic calculations involving angles dimensions weights radii tolerances and clearances.
- Apply engineering and drafting principles to produce accurate buildable drawings.
- Support engineers by ensuring drawing packages are complete and ready for fabrication.
- Maintain drafting and engineering standards.
- Manage drawing revisions and file organization.
- Maintain drawing databases and project documentation.
- Coordinate with Engineering QA Fabrication and Manufacturing teams regarding drawing updates and revisions.
- Assist with CAD file conversions and system updates as needed.
- Support continuous improvement efforts across engineering and detailing processes.
- Associate degree in Drafting CAD Technology Engineering Technology or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education technical training and drafting experience will be considered.
- Experience with AutoCAD required.
- Experience with SolidWorks Tekla Inventor Revit or other 3D modeling software is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings technical documents and fabrication packages.
- Strong understanding of drafting standards and engineering terminology.
- Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to learn new software and systems as needed.
