The Supply Chain Resources at Union Health is looking for a Buyer team member for the Terre Haute campus. Buyer Essential Job Duties:

  • Participates in the activities in the procurement of Hospital supplies taking into consideration identified priorities of group purchase contracts vendors price and need.
  • Consults with the System Director of Materials Management Purchasing Manager and the Storeroom Manager regarding activities of the department.
  • Assesses priorities regarding procurement activities.
  • Purchases designated or assigned materials supplies and equipment for health system accurately and timely.
  • Recognizes the importance of maintaining adequate stock levels for supplies that have been designated or assigned.

Education Training & Experience

  • Associates degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Healthcare purchasing experience is preferred.
  • Basic accounting knowledge required.
  • Knowledge of computer inventory systems.
  • Health care operations experience also helpful.
  • Must meet and deal successfully with a wide variety of people.
  • Must be accomplished in written and verbal business communication.
  • Must have exceptional follow-up skills for all sales and business relationships.
  • Flexible in work schedule as required.
