The primary goal is satisfying customer requirements of quality quantity and delivery in a safe manner while maximizing productivity. Specifically the Buyer is responsible for purchasing and negotiation of materials equipment and supplies from vendors. These activities include but are not limited to: acting as the liaison at all levels between corporate estimating engineering jobsites remote offices and services/spare parts and coordinating activities with manufacturing engineering sales and accounting.

Other responsibilities

• Approves the choice of vendors and authorizes purchase orders based on business needs
• Research identify and evaluate potential vendors and facilitate vendor selection
• Estimates fabricated mechanical and electrical components for entire organization
• Follow internal control procurement policies and procedures
• Develop specific annual purchasing objectives for assigned areas including cost reduction and quality improvement
• Prepares detailed cost tables to justify bidding outsourcing and budgetary goals and documentation to support budgetary and estimating requirements
• Perform other duties as directed

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer literacy is a requirement. (Excel Project PowerPoint and Word)
• Purchasing type MRP system (SAP) knowledge preferred

Education and Experience

• Minimum 1 year purchasing sourcing or planning experience.
• Motivated individual capable of learning and working as a team to procure parts components and services.
• Must be willing to service internal customers.
• Ambitious eager and hard working.
