Job Summary

BUYER / PURCHASING SPECIALIST / PROCUREMENT & SOURCING SPECIALIST (Permanent)
Our client a global manufacturing organization with headquarters in WNY is looking to add a Buyer to their growing team. This role reports directly to the Materials Manager.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform sourcing and procurement activities to ensure optimal inventory levels
  • Manage contracts for each assigned supplier
  • Conduct negotiations regarding cost delivery improvements and quality materials
  • Process POs coordinate material flow from suppliers and expedite orders as necessary to align with production and shipping schedules
  • Manage and assess supplier KPIs
  • Regularly review reports on Price Purchase Variance (PPV) and develop/implement cost reduction programs
  • Review inventory levels of materials across several locations to ensure optimal internal inventory is maintained at all times
  • Identify and research different methods to effectively reduce lead times
  • Communicate with vendors via email phone and in-person to develop key relationships
  • Address and resolve issues in a timely manner communicating with vendors and internal team members
  • Process vendors returns and non-conformance notifications (NCNs)
  • Receive customer/production requests and ensure a response within 4 hours in an effort to maintain schedules
  • Work well both independently and in a team environment
  • Other duties as assigned/as necessary

  • Position is full-time direct hire
  • 100% in-office
  • $65000 - $75000 annually depending on experience

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Business Administration or related
  • CPM or CPIM certification preferred
  • 3 years related experience
  • Experience with ERP systems & inventory management systems
  • Strong forecasting skills data analysis
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organization skills and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated
