Basic Job Functions:
The Buyer is responsible for Nucors purchasing of materials products and services.
- Process requisitions/purchase orders
- Negotiate and enforce Nucors commercial and legal contract terms and conditions
- Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors/contractors
- Contribute to Nucor enterprise-wide and NRF regional purchasing efforts
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction
- Maintain supplier compliance files
- Coordinate with operating departments on cost savings and improved processes
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- 3 years Purchasing Accounting or Supply Chain experience in a manufacturing environment or a Bachelors degree in a Business-related field.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing data generating reports and making data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP basic data analysis).
- Construction or manufacturing industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience with ERP/MRP Systems (Navision Oracle SAP etc.)
- Experience in the following disciplines: business law contract management internal controls inventory management negotiations procurement risk management accounting or warehouse.
