Job Summary
Employee may be called upon to perform any or all of the following functions:
- Independently manage the full procurement lifecycle for assigned categories including electrical materials equipment and construction services from requisition through purchase order closeout.
- Develop and issue RFQs and Requests for Proposal (RFPs); lead competitive bid evaluations; prepare detailed bid tabulations and commercial award recommendations.
- Negotiate pricing delivery and commercial terms with vendors; execute purchase orders and subcontracts within delegated approval authority.
- Manage vendor relationships for assigned suppliers; conduct vendor performance evaluations and address performance issues proactively.
- Collaborate closely with project managers engineers and field personnel to develop material procurement plans aligned with project schedules and budgets.
- Identify and qualify new vendors to expand Dacons approved supplier base; coordinate vendor qualification documentation and assessments.
- Analyze market pricing trends and supply chain conditions for assigned commodity categories; provide recommendations to management on sourcing strategy.
- Expedite critical material deliveries; coordinate logistics inspections and documentation requirements for major equipment and bulk material orders.
- Maintain procurement records spend data and reporting metrics in Dacons ERP system; support procurement KPI reporting.
- Support the resolution of commercial disputes with vendors including invoice discrepancies delivery claims and warranty issues.
- Mentor Junior Buyers and Buyer I staff on procurement processes and best practices as needed.
- Perform special projects and complete other duties as assigned or requested.

- Directly support Dacons project execution success by ensuring timely cost-effective procurement of materials and services that meet technical and schedule requirements.
- Deliver measurable cost savings and value through competitive sourcing strategies and effective negotiation with suppliers.
- Strengthen supply chain resilience by expanding and maintaining a qualified high-performing vendor base for critical electrical construction commodities.
- Provide project teams with accurate procurement intelligence lead times pricing supply risk enabling sound project planning and decision-making.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience
Bachelors degree in Business Supply Chain Management Engineering or a related field required (4 years of directly relevant procurement experience may be considered in lieu of degree) Minimum 4 years of experience required.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in procurement or supply chain with at least 2 years in a construction EPC industrial or utilities environment.
- Demonstrated experience with competitive sourcing bid evaluation and commercial negotiations.
- Experience procuring electrical construction materials equipment or subcontract services strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with ERP/procurement systems; strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Strong analytical organizational and time management skills; ability to manage a high volume of purchase orders across multiple active projects simultaneously.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence vendors and collaborate with internal project stakeholders.
- Driving is not required for this position.

- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing writing and operating office equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
