Position Summary
Nebraska Wesleyan University is seeking a full-time Business Office/HR Associate who will assist the daily operations of the Business Office and Human Resources (HR). This role will provide receptionist mail room accounts payable accounts receivable HR collections and administrative support.
Responsibilities
- Be the face of the business office by providing front office support answering phone calls and assisting visitors students faculty and staff with questions and concerns.
- Process accounts payables and receivables including invoices expense reports check requests vendor payments and student payments.
- Manage the collection process and associated vendors.
- Maintain vendor records W-9s 1099s and support credit card administration.
- Back-up the HR Generalist with new hire paperwork and personnel records.
- Respond to parents students employees and vendor questions regarding student accounts payables receivables and HR processes.
- Manage the mailroom responsibilities including the student workers scheduling.
- Perform system and file audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
- Complete other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Accounting Human Resources or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two or more years of experience in human resources payroll accounts payable accounts receivable business office operations or a related administrative role.
- Working knowledge of payroll accounts payable accounts receivable HR practices and applicable employment and tax regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook and Teams.
- Strong organizational skills analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education or a non-profit organization.
- Familiarity with ERP HRIS or integrated financial systems.
