Business Intelligence Engineer I, SCOT Optimal Sourcing Systems

Strategic Sourcing team in Supply Chain Optimization and Technology organization is seeking an experienced and motivated Business Intelligence Engineer. Strategic Sourcing team owns systems that are designed to: 1) reduce end to end costs from inbound supply chain and (2) improve vendor performance.

Some of the key decisions that these systems make: when and if we should source a product (e.g. is the product obsolete or temporarily unavailable); from which vendor and at what cost we should source an ASIN; what is the ideal supply chain setup (e.g. Pallet Truckload etc.) for an ASIN/vendor; when should vendor ship/deliver inventory to Amazon FCs; which inbound lanes vendor warehouse to Amazon FC should have pre-allocated transportation with how many shipments; when should we penalize vendors for defects/infractions through chargebacks and by how much.

Together these set of decisions and systems work together to ensure Amazons inventory needs are met on time and in the most efficient way. We develop sophisticated algorithms that involve learning from large amounts of data to drive decisions that impact sourcing of $100B inventory WW.

Key job responsibilities
In this role:
- You will develop and maintain a diverse portfolio of business intelligence products tools and services. Youll collaborate closely with product and tech teams to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Your responsibilities will include conducting in-depth analyses and creating comprehensive reports to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Youll contribute to projects that span across Retail and Operations departments aligning your work with S-Team and OLT goals to drive company-wide success.
- Candidate in this role should excel at diving into data in order to analyze root causes and implement simple long term solutions.
- They will thrive in a highly collaborative creative analytical and fast-paced environment oriented around building the worlds most flexible and effective supply chain.
- To stay at the forefront of the industry youll need to keep up current trends and best practices in business intelligence and data analytics.
- Additionally youll play a crucial role in mentoring team members and sharing knowledge to foster a culture of continuous learning within the organization.

- 2 years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift Oracle NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau Quicksight or similar tools
- Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel Tableau QuickSight MicroStrategy PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t-test Chi-squared)
- Experience with scripting language (e.g. Python Java or R)

- Masters degree or Advanced technical degree
- Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design
- Experience with statistical analysis co-relation analysis

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
